I would never drop the Yanks for a player they get even if it is a piece of trash like Manny Ramirez. However I do not want him on the Yanks. He is not a positive presence and not worth the money that he would be asking(who is?). I also would HATE to go to games and have to deal with the Manny Ramirez fan club that knows nothing about baseball.

The Yanks will need at least 1 starting pitcher maybe 2 in contreras is to not start. Of course Middle relief.

John Sterling said it best. If the Yankees would have come up with the clutch hits in Game 6, Andy Petitte would have pitched a great game. The Yankees hit poorly with runners in scoring position. Hence, they lost.

When Steinbrenner leaves the team alone and lets the people who know about baseball in the organization handle the baseball team, the Yanks do great. I think he stuck his nose in the Yankees business too much and made the same errors he made in the late '80s and the early '90s. The team has recently gotten big name talent and sacrified team chemistry.

Will this be the last of the Yankees World Series appearances for a while? I hope not. Will Game 6 be the last time Joe Torre manages? It could very well be. How will the Yankees replace David Wells and Roger Clemens? Will Jeff Weaver take advantage of his role as a starter and pitch well? Or, will he become another Ted Lilly? A guy that you want to do well, but is afraid of giving up a homerun and does not throw strikes.

Manny Ramierez coming to the Bronx is absurd. His behavior in the ALCS has further alienated Yankees fans. We do have Hideki Mastsui in left field already. Godzilla is a better outfielder and as good as a hitter. If he comes here, can Manny play right field? Why would the Yanks go after him with Karim Garcia, David Dellucci, Juan Rivera, and Reuben Sierra already fighting for playing time there? It does make sense, but who knows what George Steinbrenner is thinking. Time will tell what the 2004 New York Yankees will be.

Yeah, the rumblings around NY are that some heads are gonna roll after saturday night's loss. I hate that. I think George is too quick to just *flip out* and randomly start firing scapegoats. And, gaaah, DON'T TOUCH TORRE!!!! If he actually tries to give Joe the boot, I'd freak. I'd be sooo pissed, I swear.

I like MysterySith's idea, soriano to OF AND the shrink. No kidding.

And gaaah, don't mention Manny. Although, it's a stupid enough move, that I could actually see George making it. Can you say, Danny Tartabull, boys and girls? tongue

Danny Tartabull, ugh what a flop.

I think Zimmer should officially retire. I hope Joe and Mel stay on but if Joe does leave there is ONLY ONE CHOICE for a replacement and that is Willie Randolph. I think he has earned it all these years as 3rd base coach and it seems he is on the market every year for other teams.

I will say it again, the most important thing for the Yanks to do is re-sign Pettitte.

The only money they should be spending should be to improve their pitching.

On another note. Those sucker Red Sox have sent Grady Little packing.

Not much of compensation, but beating the Red Sox was more exciting than any World Series Championship.

I almost had a heart attack as I read it. A blockbuster in the works that would bring A-Rod to the Yanks and move Jeter to third base?!?!? WHAT?!?!?! I swear to Christ if this happens I will personally hunt down Mr. Steinbrenner and murder him with my bare hands.

If the New York Rangers have taught us anything, it's that there is such a thing as having too many stars on one team.

Oh, great call, George. Let's just spit in the face of your team's captain and most popular player. Brilliant idea.

We don't need A-Rod. We need a bullpen. Re-sign Pettitte, and keep Joe happy.

The firing of the hitting coach does not surprise me in the least. With Pettitte getting ZERO support saturday night, I've been kinda expecting this.

Here is a good article on the Yanks and what they need to do.

Thank goodness it says nothing about A-Rod. The Yanks do not need the $25 Million Man.

Most of all I want them to resign Pettitte and like that article says GIVE HIM A BLANK CHECK.

Ramirez is a cancer. He does more harm than good with his selfish me, me, me attitude. Nobody will sign him. Besides, nobody else can afford him.

Greg Maddox has filed for free agancy. I think he would be an excellent addition the now depleted staff. I would only keep im for two years though. Maybe in that time we can find some good young arms. Thoughts?

I would love Maddux. I wanted him the last time he was a free agent.

It would be cool for the Yanks to get him so he can win his 300th in NY.

My feeling is he will stay with the Braves or go back to the cubs to give the youngsters some support.

I love the changes being made.
