RE: Padmé's "Sleepless Knights" gown
I was thinking that a half-ellipse of some form would be the way to go. This rather confirms it. I'm planning on using a variation on this dress for my bridesmaid dresses, so I'll be experimenting soon as well.

RE: Padmé's "Sleepless Knights" gown
I made a very nice Japor snippet from sculpey. I'll try to post pictures of it if anyone is interested, but I'm having problems getting it into the right focus right now. As for my brooch, I had the exact same idea as apparently you did Ferd, without knowing LOL I made mine out of silver sculpey, and decided to get a better silver by painting it with plastic model paint since the silver looks VERY good (Testors)My brooch came out rather similar to yours as well Ferd, but not quite. It's hard to make it since we don't have any clear shots of it, yet. I made my dress out of polyester satin and the colour is VERY close to the general colour in the pictures, I did find an exact match apparently, but it cost $21.50/yard and that was just TOO much to shell out (as it is, I paid $15.00/yard) I don't have an underdress or anything, since the fabric I got I made sure was comfortable against my skin and I just used a strapless bra and it worked out OK. I'm about to put the straps on and the wings. BenaeQuee told me to do it in a semi circle, and looks like you were pretty much right Kris! I'll be putting them on as soon as I put the straps on.

I made the snippet too out of sculpy/fimo clay. I used a sort of tan color, and carved some of the little details into it (my camera is not good at capturing tiny details--but you get the point). I baked it, gave it a paint treatment to make it sort of look like it was made out of clay, and finally attached it to a long chain. Easy enough.
Here's a pic (shown on the backside of my crazy dress fabric.)

Sarah, take the URL of your photo location and place it in brackets like this:
[ image=http://www.myphoto.com/blah/blah.jpg ]
(Just get rid of the spaces before and after the brackets.)

FYI, the pictures aren't showing up because the web address you gave doesn't end in a picture file extension (for example, .jpg or .gif).

RE: Padmé's "Sleepless Knights" gown
I'm very excited. I just ordered all my silk and dyeing supplies from Dharma Trading Company for my bridesmaid dresses. We're going to do a modified version of this since none of my bridesmaids are pregnant.

Well, we haven't set a date yet. There's this immigration thing with him being a Canadian. Its much more complicated than we ever dreamed. So the date will depend on the timing of that.

RE: Padmé's "Sleepless Knights" gown
Hi everyone! This is my first post! I'm so excited. I made this dress last week with my Mom and I'll try and get some pictures up. I was wondering why you both chose to make your jappor snipetts so dark. It always looked off-whiteish to me. Here's a pic of it from padawans guide.
