Pattern Design Software?
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone as tried or used pattern design software? I would like to use it for SW costumes, but also for general garment creation. I like the idea of customizing your own patterns that you can print out youself. Just wondering if anyone had a preference. I have a Mac so my research has been focused on Mac software such as Cochenille's Garment Designer Studio (
http://www.cochenille.com/garm.html
). But i'm open for Windows software as well.
Thanks!

RE: Pattern Design Software?
Hi. I have the program Wild Ginger Pattern Boutique 3. It was a little pricey, but it's really nice. It goes on sale around the holidays. The only problem is that they have different programs for lingere, active wear, men's and childrens. I wish it was just one huge program. The owner will help you with your measurements and help tweak fitting areas. The forums there are very helpful. Hope it helps!

I use Adobe Illustrator. Yes, I know, its most likely the hard way, but, I know the program, so why not?

RE: Pattern Design Software?
I picked up some trial versions of pattern design software a few years ago at the huge SewExpo in Puyallup, WA. At that time, I was unimpressed. It's likely things have improved as technology marches on.
