Here's a page with a whole bunch of different mules. It'll give you a really good idea of what you're looking for. happy The top two actually kinda look like what Nat wears with this dress, except I think hers were a bit more squared off at the toe - not so pointed.

I finished my niece's dress this past week and have a picture of it up here. She lives across the country from me but should get the dress by this weekend. Hopefully I'll get a picture of her in it shortly after that.

FERD, thank you so much for your wonderful instructions. They really made constructing it easy! I ended up just lining the necklace with interfacing instead of batting and I think it turned out really cute! Thanks for the idea about that too! You are wonderful. happy

Well, so far so good on the mockup of this for my Padme doll. I finished the underdress and gauntlets. I dyed the chiffon (using highlighters!) And I put the satin strip up the middle of the back over-piece.

Then I had to take a 2-week break b/c I wasn't at home. But it looks great so far, and I can't wait to get the wings attached. Now that my sister is back from her honeymoon, I'll ask to borrow her digital camera and take some pics.

Hey all - Obi-Dawn - wow - your child costumes are just beautiful! You'll have to let me post pics of them - especially once you get pics of your niece in them! Wonderful job!

As she said, Ferd showed me those little Kelly dolls on ebay and they were just so cute that I had to post them! I looked at the rainbow one just now and it's cute too! I'll have to post that one when I get back. No updates until next week - I'm on vacation! Ferd and I went fabric shopping and got to talk costumes and Star Wars - fun fun! :-)

Obi-Dawn your niece is so lucky! Those costumes are so cute. I hope she doesn't grow too quickly so she can use them for Halloween in the fall happy Is she going to use them to play dress up year round? She's so lucky she has an Aunt who can sew.

Pics!!! I have PICS!!!!!!!!!!! (Scroll down to see.)

Now I'm not totally done yet-- I still have some little fixes and things to do on the dress. And I have to make the jewelry. But it's really truly almost there. Phew!

And one question for you wise, wise people-- as I've mentioned before, the silk shrank when I dyed it, and I had to add an extension on to the bottom of the underdress. It's quite visible in the pictures. I was contemplating replacing the extension with the shiny side of the silk-- the same stuff I used for binding the overlay-- to make a shiny band around the bottom of the dress. It would be blue, of course, the same as the bottom of the dress. I figured that way it might look deliberate, rather than a mistake. Good idea/bad idea? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Caitlin WOW! Your dress looks beautiful. Your fit is just perfect and the mantle looks lovely!! Simply Beautiful Job! grin Your hard work and dedication certainly shows--I know this has been a long time coming--and WOW--it was worth the wait.

I think the shiny "ribbon" look in blue on the bottom to hide your little "Boo Boo" would look really nice. I think it would compliment the binding on the mantle and for those "real" people who don't eat, drink and sleep Padme dress details I don't think it would appear like a mistake--it would blend like the other pieces and fabrics in this dress--and look like it was supposed to be done like that.

Don't sweat that one little thing though--Your dress is LOVELY--and you look beautiful in it!
