Up to 6269 for me. I want to get a good lead going in case work gets too hectic for me to work on NaNo there.

I've tried to write today, but in less than an hour I'm going back to my old job and I've got first day jitters. Which I shouldn't, because I've done this before, but I'll hopefully be in a better frame of mind after work. Late night writing, here I come. tongue

At least one of my characters will be dead, and there'll be some who have miscarriages... it's a medieval time frame, so the death rate was a bit higher. 4,294 words total, and I'm off to bed!

Don't worry! You can make it up! I had to start over today the events of yesterday killed my muse for the novel I was writing. So, I had to start from scratch today, and I'm halfway done with playing catchup. I don't know if I'm going to make much progress as far as today's word count goes, but there's always time.

I've made it to 1517 after starting from scratch about five hours ago, plus all sorts of stuff getting in the way...

Edit: 2,010 words in all. Pretty good, I think, all things considered. Off to bed now...

Here, here! I had a lackluster first day myself, but made up some ground by getting to a 2 day total of 1,392 tonight!

Closed out the day with 3343 words down! I know I have more words in me, but I actually do have to get up and do productive things with my morning tomorrow. Sigh.

On the bright side, a new character presented himself while I was at work, mostly because we misread an artist's name in his e-mail. The misreading is becoming a full-fledged character. I'm more excited about this than anyone in that room knows. tongue

I'm now at 16,768. One of my friends in our unofficial NaNo team suggested a test that can be quite revealing: how often do you use exclamation marks?

Find&Replace will tell you how many !s you have, and then divide your total wordcount by that number. I average 1 every 1000 words, near enough happy
