Well, it has offically happened. The Red Sox took Game 1. I bet there was a huge party with champange and mechanical bulls for them to "Cowboy Up" on. People here in Boston already have punched there Cubs-Red Sox World Series ticket. I wonder if the Twins did the same thing after Game One in the ALDS?

Just in case you weren't keeping score Jedi Satimber, the Sox won by 3. Even if that hit was called a foul and Walker went on to strike out, we still would have won by 2.

Edit: What a pair of mascots. The Sox have Wally the Green Monster. The Yanks have Special Ed the "it was a foul ball" guy!!!

If you're trying to say that if that HR was ruled foul it would have affected the outcome of the game then you're crazy.
The homers were hit in this order:

Top of 4th: David Ortiz hits 2-run HR
Top of 5th: Todd Walker hits solo HR
Top of 5th: Manny Ramirez hit solo HR

So like I said before, even without Wakler's HR we still would have won the game.

Oh... what's that I hear? Sounds like a choir of violins playing a very sad song for Jedi Satimber sad .

Losing Game 1 definately hurts. But, it is only one game. I commend Joe Torre for bringing in his seldom-used bullpen last night. I give him credit for realizing one game does not win the series, just like a battle does not win the war. If only Giambi could hit and Soriano get on base. Go Yankees!

For starters, as stated before, I'm not saying that this series is already over. So stop trying to lump me into your negative stereotype of Red Sox fans!

Answer: NOTHING!!!
To say that Manny wouldn't have hit his HR, or Millar wouldn't have got that RBI just because Walker's hit was ruled foul is absurd! There's nothing wrong with sticking up for your team as a dedicated fan, but now you're just being silly.

All that aside, good luck tonight against Lowe.

I understand that some teams, when they are behind on the scoreboard, get the wind knocked out of their sails when a point/run/TD is overturned and never recover, but the Sox were not looking up at the Yanks in this case, they were winning 2-0.

The one thing about this argument, is that neither of you can actually be proven right or wrong one way or the other. There's just no way of knowing. But I agree with Satimber, that if that homer doesn't happen, there's no guarantee the others would have still followed. Pitchers throw differently according to the situation, and there's no way of knowing how Moose would have reacted if that ball was called foul.

Point is: we'll never know.

But we got to put this behind us, hitch up our pants, and go out and fight again tonight.

And Giambi, is it too much to ask for you to actually show up tonight??
