I love all the changes, too. I couldn't be happier with the entire coaching staff.

Any word on Mel Stottlemyre yet? I really hope they can convince him to stay.

And d'oh! I won't relax until Pettitte is officially re-signed.

But yaaaay donnie! and congrats on the promotions Willie and Lee! And Sojo! Fun! happy

Did Lee Mazzili really get a promotion? I guess 3rd base coach IS more important.

This is perfect for Willie to prepare to be the next Yankee Manager. I think Mel will be back, though I would not bet on it.

I am 100% sure Pettitte will be re-signed. He earned it more than anyone.

Anyone else think Donnie should grow his mustache back? lol

Now I want them to win a World Series more than ever so Donnie can get that ring on his finger.

Mattingly is the reason I am a Yankee fan. I am sure I am not alone. He kept me a Yankee fan when all those jumpers went to the mets in 1986, ugh.

Mazzilli is in line to be the next Orioles Manager in that one report that I read.

But that leaves Willie to replace Joe. I can live with that.


I wonder if Raghetti could be brought in...if Stottlemyre leaves?

The Phillies acquired closer Billy Wagner from the Astros for Brandon Duckworth and two minor leaguers. Why does this affect the Yankees? Well, the Astros have dumped salary to try to acquire Andy Pettite.
I too love the addition of Don Mattingly as the hitting coach.
David Wells appears to have pitched his last game in a Yankees uniform in Game 5 of the World Series.

First off, congratulations to Mike Mussina winning a Gold Glove.

The Yankees need to sign Andy Pettite because they have no lefty starting pitching now that David Wells is gone.

Having Jeff Weaver as the second or third starter is scary. shock

You know...I truly believe that Weaver just needs confidence.


Ever since he got here, he has had to look over his shoulder, all the while getting used to pitching in NYC.


I think that if he just knows that he is in the Starting rotation...from the beginning, that he will be the pitcher that he was in Detroit...

I was at a bar last night and ESPN *was* on mute, but I believe they were saying that Soriano and Johnson might be traded for Schilling?? Can you just shoot me now? What's with George's fetish for old, past-their-prime pitchers? And I don't care how poorly soriano performed in the post season, this is no time to give up on him. And Nick Johnson's potential is a no-brainer. Needless to say, I am against this......

Then...I caught a glimpse of today's Daily News, which said that Alomar was hinting he wanted to come back to NY as a Yankee? Gaaah! NO!!! He sucks now. Gaaah, the very idea! Keep sori!

It'll be a dark day in NY if Soriano gets traded. He represents the youth and rebirth of the franchise, and most importantly something to build on. Why trade a 40/almost 40 player?

Manny sux. He won't survive if he's brought here. There were rumors that Mondesi has an "opera" problem (me me me) and that's why he was gone. Tell you the truth, I miss his arm in the outfield.
