Ok...how many Yankees games are y'all going to this year?


I've never seen A-Rod play, so I might take a trip or two up to Yankees Stadium....especially against the BoSox.

And I think that the Yankees are coming back to Philly this year...so I'll make my trek to the new stadium there too.

Not this year. The AL East plays the NL West and this year they are in Arizona, Los Angeles(which will be great in it's own right since the Yanks and Dodgers haven't played a meaningful game since the 1981 World Series) and New York(obviously). They won't be in Philly next year either. The last time the Yanks played the Phils it was in the Vet, so the next time they play it'll be in the Bronx.

It seems that every time I go, they lose. Last year's experience DEFINITELY soured me for a while. It's not everyday you go and see a team get no-hit for the first time in 60 YEARS.

I hate the Yankees! Why is it the Yankes year in and year out get good free agents while small market teams dont get a damn thing? Look at the NFL or even the NBA they have a diffrent champion or teams compeating year in and year out where as MLB would have a stoke if thier precious Yankess didnt make a playoff series. To me baseball was great when you relyed on talent not how big your wallet is. I have nothing against Yankee fans they are loyal and I respect the Yankes history and tradition in baseball but baseball will be fun to watch again if the owners would give other teams a chance to compete with the big teams until then baseball sucks

Everyone needs to stop crying about the Yankees being rich. Do us little people cry all the time because our friend or neighbor has the bigger house or faster car?

One thing we all know is that $$$ will not make someone love you more. Unless the said person gets something out of that $$$ like us Yankee fans.

It has been a nice 10 years or so since the poorer George has been investing his $$ to build a better team.

We should not be hated for being a large city that actually has people that love their teams and are willing to pay to see them. Unlike those "small market teams". If they cannot stand the heat, get out of the sun, or should I say move teams like the Expos away from the cold and into the heat. I am sure Puerto Rico or Washington DC would make a great home.

Spending all that money doesn't guarantee a championship. For an example, take a look at another NY team. The Rangers payroll is ridiculously large and can you remember the last time they even made the playoffs? Also, look at last year's world series. Sure, the Yanks made it but they lost to the Marlins, a small market team.

I didn't want to believe they got him until I saw a press conference or him in pinstripes. All I kept thinking about was how the Red Sox deal fell apart. It still feels strange saying he's a Yankee. I can't wait until that first Yanks-Sox series. Should be interesting.

After all of this, I have one big question. Will Aaron Boone be welcome anywhere in Massachusetts? happy

Anyone who says the Yanks win because they have a lot of money is an idiot. Money only takes you so far. The team still has to gel together and play like a TEAM. The Rangers of hockey are a perfect example of spending gone wrong. They have all these talented players but they don't know how to play together and as a result they haven't made the playoffs going on 7 years now(cuz they sure as hell aint getting in this year) which is also the longest current streak in the NHL.

Having money gives the Yanks the opportunity to win a lot but it doesn't guarantee championships.

Look at it this way. The Yanks made to the series twice in the last 3 years played EXPANSION teams and lost. That makes me sad. heh.

I think A-Rod looks pretty cool in pinstripes. I will miss Soriano, but at least A-Rod has personality. Not to mention he is gonna give Jeter a run for his money with the ladies.

Getting A-Rod, was SPECTACULAR. Awesome. Unbelievable. But it only has my blessing because they kept my boy Derek at short. And that's the truth. If they had dared disrespect the Captain, I'd be spitting nails about this deal right about now.

As for that tired 'too much money' moaning that comes from other teams? I'm sick of it. Especially when the same complaints come from stupid Bosox fans. *cough* HELLO? Who was trying to get A-Rod earlier this winter? And who boasts the SECOND highest payroll in baseball? So ridiculous. Spit out those sour grapes already, you hypocrites.

Is Boone even still a yankee? Any chance on teaching him second base?

I see the Yankee haters found our thread. I was hoping they would have quit after complaining and trying to rally support (like it would be hard) in the Fenway thread on the Boston board.


So, to those Yankee haters I say this. I hope A-rod bats .400 with 80 HR and 195 RBI. I hope the Yankees with 130 games and sweep the playoffs. Then as they are crown Kings of all Sport, the rest of Baseball must bow before them and acknowledge them as the Greatest Team of all time.


You all had a shot at getting a-ROd in 2000 and again in 2004, you all balked, so New York took him. If it was all about the money and big name stars, then why isn't Manny in pinstripes? Go Yankees!
