Chapter 4: "They're working together!?"


“Marvin.”

Obi-Wan nodded at the janitor, who was cleaning the floors of the main hall in the Jedi Temple.

“Master Kenobi! Good to see you’ve made it back. They’ve lost….so many..”

Obi-Wan clenched his teeth at this and gripped the old janitor’s shoulder:

“Oh, Marvin, you won’t be getting rid of me anytime soon. Unless they keep sending me on those missions with Anakin.”



Marvin chuckled at this, and Obi-Wan gave his good-byes and continued to the Council room, where he could see Master Plo Koon through the door.

Hmmm…If Master Koon has already been called back from Kamino, this must be serious…he’s only been gone a few days…

Obi-Wan saw Mace Windu seated next to Master Koon, and the small green Jedi Master seated third from the door.

Quickening his step, Obi-Wan approached the door, when he made eye contact with Master Windu, who stood to come greet him.

“Obi-Wan. Good to have you back, friend. But I’m afraid we’ve got some bad news.”

“Everyone that I have encountered since our landing has told me the same thing, Master.”

Obi-Wan followed the tall, dark Jedi Master into the circular room, where he was stunned, as only the three Masters he’d seen were in the room.

“Wh—Where is everyone? Master Kolar, Master Mundi, Master Tiin?”

Obi-Wan looked to Master Yoda, who sat on his legs, frowning.

“Away, they are.”

Obi-Wan looked back at Mace, who was looking down at the ground, biting his bottom lip:

“Master Windu, we only have three Jedi Masters on Coruscant! How many Jedi have we lost since I left?”

Mace continued to stare down at the ground, and, uncharacteristically, rubbed his eye, as if he were crying. Master Yoda spoke for him.

“Lost 60, we have, in 3 days. All on Dantooine. Killed them…”

Yoda seemingly looked to the cold tile floor for help in getting his words out.

“…my former Padawan did.”


He still refers to that monster as his former Padawan. Dooku…how could he have massacred the 60 Jedi at the Academy on Dantooine? He must have had help… His army was fairly small, from the battle reports that I saw back on the cruiser…

Obi-Wan saw Mace look up and leaned closer to speak with him face to face.

“Master, Dooku’s army couldn’t kill 60 Jedi and 15 Republic battalions. He would have to ha—“

“Help, he had, Master Obi-Wan. Killed many, Grievous did.”




Obi-Wan’s jaw fell to the floor.

“Grievous and Dooku are working on the same missions? How can the Seperatists afford to do that, they—“

Mace finished his sentence.

“They will be together again soon. They’re putting all of their eggs in one basket, Obi-Wan. Or so says our intelligence. This is your bad news, Obi-Wan.”

Obi-Wan readied himself for the death sentence the council seemed to be giving him.


“Go back to Naboo, you must, Obi-Wan. Young Skywalker, as well.”

Mace looked back into the eyes of the bearded, weary Jedi Master:

“Naboo is unguarded. If Grievous and Dooku get their armies there and have their way…then Naboo will share the same fate as Dantooine…”

Obi-Wan felt very tired again.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Masterjedi, no, I haven't, but I wish you could talk to my English professor for me. wink

The best way for you to help me is to get the word out! I don't wish to challenge JW-Titus's iconic status on the 3SA, but I would like to for the story to be read by as many as possible. I'm working hard to try to establish an alternate prequel to ROTS (besides Labryinth).

OK, Guys, I know this is short, but I wanted to get something out at least. Expect some action by the end of the week.


Chapter 5: Homecoming?


“Looks nice. You must have been working hard since I left.”

She smiled up at him and rested her head on his chest, as they stood in the center of the main room of their Coruscant apartment.

“It’s good to have you home.”

He smiled down at her and rested his chin on her soft hair.

If only I could stay here longer than 8 hours at a time….

She looked back up at him, with a hint of dismay on her face:

“How long are you going to be home?”

Anakin frowned and looked out of the window, making a point not to answer her question.

“Anakin….”

He felt worse looking into her sad eyes than he ever did after killing anyone or anything.

“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…”

“No. It’s not your fault, Ani. I knew this when I married you.”

He looked down, as she grasped his newly upgraded metal hand. He saw his comlink beeping, and knew it was Obi-Wan.

“I’ll be right back.”

He didn’t wish to upset her, so he walked out onto his balcony.

“Master?”

“Anakin. Bad news, my friend. We leave as soon as you’re ready. Meet me at the temple, and I’ll fill you in there.”

Anakin’s heart dropped. He at least wanted some sleep.

Padme looked out through the glass, her hand on her stomach.

I really liked this. I especially like the way you captured Anakin and Padme in this chapter. It really shows what their relationship is like. Excellent job.

And poor Anakin having to run off after just getting there...

Great fic, and I'll be eagerly waiting for more.

this is getting better and better. i like this chapter because of padme and anikan and because of the forshadowing with the belly(im not gonna say though i bet everyone knows lol)
