Aw, Han's such a rock for Luke. I love 'brother' stories happy

Rally nicely written speech too; felt very natural, with just the right amount of slang, and Han’s voice was perfect for him. And poor Luke, so mortified and full of remorse.

Also thought it was a really nice touch to have Han share a little of his own past to try to make Luke understand what really counts; I liked that a lot.

Looking forward to the next part already happy

I agree with blank, I also love brother stories. They both kind of have the same background - orphan in a way, forced to grow up real fast. It's interesting to see how they differ in handling tense situations.

I really loved this chapter - I love the way Han handled it when Luke said that Vader was his father. Great, great reaction on Han's part. It was so heart-warming. happy I love this story!!! love

Wow! The interaction between Han and Luke is written so well. Also, you make Han the ultimate friend and keep it believable. The title makes a lot of sense after reading that. Keep at it! applause

“C’mon, kid. You need your rest.”


Luke must’ve fallen asleep for a little longer because the next thing he realized, Solo was standing beside his hospital bunk, draping a blanket back over him.


“C'mere.” The youth was all but asleep as Han took a tissue and gently dried his tear-stained face. He tried to imagine an innocent face like Luke’s under Vader’s helmet. He couldn’t.


“Just hang in there, kid. It'll be okay,” he promised softly, brushing Luke’s cheek with the back of his finger. But Luke had already drifted into a weary sleep.


Solo sank into the chair beside Luke’s bed, and it wasn’t long before the exhausted Corellian followed suit.

Luke shook his head slightly and Han continued, “Three-thousand-seven-hundred-twenty to one.”

I almost spilled my Latte while reading this! laugh
So he did pay attention, after all...little weasel!


Danger! I wonder how things will change now that Lando is going to be rescued, not Han...


Han put his arms around Luke and hugged the boy close like he had on Hoth, when he’d tried to warm and comfort him. He slightly rocked the kid, knowing full well he’d protect him with his life. Stars, he was getting soft.


I was just thinking the exact same thing! Mercenary Han would never have done that in a million years! laugh


“H-he told me something, Han.” Luke’s voice had risen in pitch with desperation. “But I’m scared… to t-tell you.”

worried Oh God! That sentence is powerful!


“You can’t tell me you believe that.” Solo continued.

Han didn’t reply to that. He only said, “Now do you hate me, or think less of me just ‘cause I had rotten parents?”


I love it when Han gets all no-nonsense in serious situations!


Very powerful chapter...I wonder how Leia will react to the news! worried
