I'm not afraid, I just look down on any people that could embrace the term "freedom loving" without throwing up at how cheesy and stupid it sounds.

I don't think adequate facilities exist to care for the people that use that term. sad

It's like bad love poetry, EBB, and it's so saccarine, so cheesy, so asinine a term I honestly feel like throwing up every time I hear it. I've never met anyone in the world who has a heart shaped frame for freedom, nor do people sit there on those sultry nights in an apartment by the river, the ceiling fan lazily stirring the smoke as they pine for Freedom's loving embrace and dear god do you realise how revoltingly soppy it sounds? tongue

The thing about it is, those who feel they live in a free society will always look down on other societies which are more authoritarian.

More authoritarian societies are usually based around service to some sort of Charismatic leader. To some, that becomes the very meaning of life for them.

Its not that A can't become B, or that B can't become A, its just that I think a citizen who doesn't want to follow a "great leader" has every right to be called freedom loving, because just as much as Americans feel they love freedom, those who exist in less free circumstances love their government too.

Its just a matter of pride in a democratic government.
