While I was in Germany earlier this year I partook in beer for the first time in my nineteen years on this planet. It was glorious. Unfortunately when I got back to the United States I was disappointed to discover all the popular beer here tastes horrible.

I also miss a drink called apfelschorle. But that is not alcoholic. I also acquired a taste for tea.

Thats because all the beer in US is not actually proper beer. Its lager. Which is rubbish.

We have quite a few good beers in the UK, not as good as Germany though.

Nope. I've looked and can't find any. I have apple juice and sparkling water at home, so I can still have apfelschorle when I want. But I miss just opening a bottle.

Lager is still beer though, since beer is just the overarching term. Besides, a lot of lager is also sold in Germany, as lagers are of central European origin.

I'm into making my own booze these days....out of stuff from around my house.
Wild grapes and elderberry wine, meade from the honey from the bee keeper up the road and my dad told me once they used to make 'moonshine' out of palmetto tree berries. I'm about to put that one to the test.
Tonight, bourbon though.
I may even make a thread.

What do you mean, vodka is useless? That's one of the most versatile alcohols there is!

Truthfully, I've never met an alcohol I didn't like.
